After reading all about the different branches of psychology the branch the interests me the most is Comparative Psychology. I find comparative psychology the most interesting because it is focused on animal behavior. The highest amount of education needed for this field of study would be a doctorate, but can be done with a bachelors degree and a masters degree. Most people who work in this field of psychology choose a certain species to specialize in like cats or dogs. Some careers include animal behaviorists, ethologists, and a professor. Some important people that rooted comparative psychology are Charles Darwin and Georges Romanes.
Comparative Psychology draws me in and interests me because it is concerned with the study of animal behavior. I love animals and I love learning about them and my ultimate career goal is to work with them in any way, shape, or form. Comparative psychology opens up new pathways in which my later education and career goals could go.

Hi Rachel! I liked reading about your interest in animals. The way that animals behave in different environments and react to different situations is a very intriguing study and sounds great! I am glad that we are in this class together and I look forward to read more of your blogs in the future! Good luck this semester and have fun!
ReplyDeleteHi Rachel,
ReplyDeleteI love animals too and animal behavior is very interesting. I always wondered what my dogs are thinking. I like to guess by looking at their expressions :). I have never heard of this branch of psychology before and in my opinion it sounds challenging since an animal and humans comunĂcate in different ways. I wish you the best in your studies here at HSU. :)
Rachel, it is so cool that you chose a psychology field that involved animals, especially since you want to have a career related with that topic in the very near future. I think it would be very neat to get to study and learn the animal behavior, especially if that is what you are passionate about. Very nice blog entry, I enjoyed getting to read it!
